Gaudeamus (‘let us rejoice’) were formed in 2017.
We are a versatile five-or-six part vocal ensemble, drawing singers from Gloucester, Hereford, Ross and Rugby. Members have sung with cathedral and church choirs, and various professional ensembles around the country.
We perform a wide variety of music from medieval to modern, and specialise in concerts with narrative and musical illustrations, such as ‘Mayflower 1620’ (first performed in Autumn in Malvern) and ‘Loyalty Binds Me’, the life of King Richard III in words and music, which after its Malvern premier in 2024 will be taken to other venues and hopefully recorded.
Gaudeamus work regularly with the Herefordshire composer Stephen Gowland on arrangements to suit the ensemble.
Gaudeamus can perform at weddings, funerals, special events, etc.
We offer a range of music from sacred to barbershop with anything in between, and can provide soloists, choirs of any size, organists, string quartets and other instrumental ensembles, to suit your budget.
